Description

Since 2018, the Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary, in partnership with Ever Active Schools, has led a national project to advance wellbeing in Faculties of Education across Canada The project, Teachers of Tomorrow, has created opportunities to connect to the campus mental health strategy and across faculties and has the potential to inform adoption of the National Standard of Canada for Mental Health and Well-Being for Post-Secondary Students across campus, through a health-promotion lens. In this session, we share some of the ways that BEd. programs across Canada are championing health promotion. We apply these strategies to the new National Standard of Canada for Mental Health and Well-Being for Post-secondary Students, and highlight the importance of partnerships sharing both research findings and future opportunities.
